How will you be making a difference?

Strategic thinking

  • Work with local teams and product managers to develop the go-to-market plans for our software portfolio in response to the wider business strategy.
  • Lead on research to inform strategic direction and prioritisation, with a focus on AAC and Ed Tech markets.
  • Develop routes to market, across B2B, B2C and D2C channels as appropriate.
  • Capture and prepare research and insights for the Group Board and Exec teams that will support business planning.


Product marketing

  • Develop key messages and global communications in collaboration with Group comms and product managers to establish consistent messaging for global reach or core product.
  • Lead on marketing planning for Ed Tech products, software titles and major updates or releases, creating a clear positioning strategy for each market.
  • Support local marketing teams with research and targeted engagement planning to increase growth in their region.
  • Identify partnerships to support growth at a global and local level as appropriate, with a focus on Ed Tech and improving access to AAC for children and young people.
  • Work collaboratively with the Group Head of Communications and local marketing leaders to develop channels and audiences to drive growth and ensure the customer journey is in place in alignment with go-to-market plans.


Collaboration and communication

  • Integrate software and Ed Tech marketing strategy into broader communication planning, playing a key role in the cross-group comms team.
  • Work closely with R&D teams, particularly product managers, to ensure a deep understanding of products’ value propositions.
  • You will be a member of the Group Services division that collaborates with and serves all markets, meaning it will be essential to work closely with all marketing and customer-facing teams across the group to understand our customers’ needs.
  • Prepare regular updates for the Group Board and Exec teams that capture progress in existing projects and plans.


Customer journey

  • Capture existing customer journeys and identify opportunities for these to be improved, or where new journeys should be developed, based on quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Develop customer journeys that optimise the value to customers and support them to achieve their goals, taking an iterative approach so any gains can be made or pains eased as soon as possible.
  • Lead on App Store listings and group social channel advertising, supporting marketing and comms teams to optimise campaign visibility and effectiveness.


Project management

  • Utilise project management best practice to ensure all responsibilities across the group are clear, stakeholders are engaged appropriately, informed and processes are applied consistently to ensure timeline, quality and compliance goals are achieved.


The successful applicant will also be asked to perform other duties on an ad-hoc basis and will need a proactive attitude to this.

Essential Qualifications/skills/experience

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience of software marketing – B2C and B2B
  • The ability to write about technical subjects to a wide (and non-technical) audience
  • Experience in producing content for a range of on-line and off-line publications
  • Ability to work autonomously, plan and lead projects, juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • An exceptional team player who wants to work for a company that makes a real difference to people’s lives.

Useful Qualifications/skills/experience

  • Experience of the Ed Tech market, preferably US
  • Project management
  • Experience of global marketing
  • Strong skills using design programmes including the Adobe suite, Canva, video recording and editing software
  • You will need to maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of all our products and their uses

Additional information:

  • In this role, you will have the flexibility to work between your home and our office locations in Malvern and Bristol. For this role, we require the candidate to work in the Bristol office twice a week as a minimum.
  • You will need to maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of all our products and their uses.
  • You will meet and keep in regular contact with other teams in the business.
