The Job

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistive Technology Specialist or Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with strong AAC expertise to join our established UK AT team. Based in or near London, you will help expand our presence in the London and Surrounding Areas, offering clinical insight, expert support, and impactful training to individuals, services, and organisations.

This role is ideal for someone looking to complement our experienced national team by bringing regional expertise and focus, while contributing to wider business goals including training delivery, relationship building, and strategic growth.

You will work alongside a highly skilled group of clinicians, trainers, and technologists, helping shape the future of AAC provision in your region.

Duties will include:

·Deliver engaging and effective training sessions in homes, schools, and clinical or care settings throughout London and surrounding areas

·Provide expert demonstrations, assessments, and implementation support for Smartbox solutions.

·Collaborate with local multi-disciplinary teams to assess individual AAC needs and recommend appropriate technology solutions.

·Build and maintain strong relationships with regional services, schools, NHS trusts, and education professionals.

·Plan and deliver tailored support and therapy packages using Smartbox products.

·Advocate for Smartbox products and services with both new and existing clients, helping to grow awareness and access to AAC.

·Share clinical insights with our product, marketing and sales teams to support continuous improvement.

·Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and professional development across the AT Specialist team.

·Represent Smartbox at key industry events across the UK

·Identify and contribute to content for marketing, case studies, and user stories.

·Maintain customer details, visit notes, and conduct follow up activity using the CRM

· Support customers by signposting to relevant training, communities, trials, and support services available from the wider Smartbox team.

·Maintain excellent awareness of competitor products and services, providing feedback to the Head of Sales, R&D and training teams to help make continuous improvements for our customers.

The successful applicant will also be asked to perform other duties on an ad-hoc basis and will need a proactive attitude to this.

Essential skills/attributes

·Qualified Speech and Language Therapist or equivalent experience in Assistive Technology/AAC.

·Demonstrated passion and extensive hands-on experience with AAC and assistive technology.

·Confident in delivering training and professional development to clinicians, educators and families.

·Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.

·Highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing your own schedule in a field-based role.

·Technically competent and eager to stay current with product developments.

·Based in London or the surrounding region, with flexibility to travel locally and occasionally further afield.


Useful skills/attributes

·Previous experience in training delivery, sales support, or education settings.

·Knowledge of AAC services, funding pathways and networks within London and surrounding areas.

·Existing connections with NHS or education-based AAC teams in the region.

Additional Information

·In this role, you will have the flexibility to work between your home and our office locations in Malvern and Bristol.

·You will need to maintain a deep understanding and knowledge of all our products and their uses.

·You will meet and keep in regular contact with other teams in the business.
